Definition of Internship
Internship Training as part of academic requirements of the Master of Business Administration (MBA) Department of Marketing, University of Rajshahi. Internship is a way of application of theoretical knowledge practically to achieve practical experience. Theoretical knowledge is acquired for the purpose of applying in the practical life. Without practical knowledge, theoretical knowledge is useless. When we can implement the theoretical knowledge practically, we can say the knowledge is successful. Internship program is the way of implementing the theoretical knowledge practically.
Objectives of the Study
The main objective of my study is to know the Banking system of SIBL with specially Investment activities. The objective of this study is as follows:
· To know the Banking system of SIBL and to give an idea about how SIBL emerged.
· To know how the bank operates its Investment activities.
· To know the general Banking, Investment and Foreign Exchange of SIBL.
· To learn the various functions of the Bank; its operations, its management styles and how well it is shown your financial performance for attracting customers and how it is dealing its foreign exchange transaction.
· To know the role played by SIBL as Shariah based bank.
· Another Objective which is to get an expose of the real life work and get an idea of how, is like working for an organization to gain experience which will help me in the future in a practical life.
· Find out the organizational structure.
· To know the culture and human resource of the bank.
· Find out the comparative position of the bank.
· Understand the services it offers and to understand the mechanism of the services.
· Observe the market in which the bank operates.
· To know about the latest services offered by SIBL.
· To identify various subsidiary services rendered by SIBL.
Research Methodology
Research methodology is the way of conducting a study. It is the process of collecting data, interpreting the data and anglicizing this data and doing other relevant activities. It is the combination of rules and techniques, which are used in a study. Research methodology of my study is discussed as follows-
Sample Area
Sample area is an important factor for conducting a research. For my research study I have selected Social Investment Bank Ltd. (SIBL), Rajshahi branch as my sample area. I have collected information from SIBL, Rajshahi branch.
Sample Size
Sample size is the great factor for getting tremendous result. The larger sample size the more reliable the information will be. But the sample size of my internship report is small. Sample size is shown under the table clearly-

Data Collection Method
Data collection is an important task for every researcher. It is not an easy job. There are two source of the collection of requiring data. These are as follows-
Sources of Data
Primary Data are Collected From-
· Observation during the total internee period.
· Conducting interview both customers and staffs of the branch.
Secondary Data are Collected From-
· Banks previews report.
· From the website.
· Banks other published information.
· Printing materials of other private banks.
Significance of the Study
In the modern age, the role of Banks is very wide as well as comprehensive. Social Investment bank Ltd. Contributes to the fields like agriculture, small Industry, trade and commerce, foreign exchange, foreign trade, poverty alleviation etc. In recent years, the bank has bought significant changes in different policies as well as introduced same products. The bank (i) Opened on line service based on Satellite (ii) introduced criteria for promotion (iii) Declared cash incentives for recovery of loans. And the bank’s new products are debit cards and micro credit.
Limitation of the Study
There are some problems that I faced in my study period. They are as follows:
Lack of Time
I have got 7 days for my Internship program I think 7 days program is not sufficient to acquire complete knowledge about the overall activities of a bank. For this reason, I could not clearly understand many critically site of this bank.
Administrative Secrecy
We know that there are some secret sites of any institute. As a financial institute the Social Investment Bank Limited of Rajshahi Branch was not exception to this regard. The authority kept much information as secret.
